ADAC is unique in Australia as it is the only Indigenous peak body of its kind. Currently we represent 22 Aboriginal Community Organisations from across South Australia. ADAC provides responses to a range of state and national committees and strategies, helps communities deal with the problems associated with substance misuse, develops health promotional materials, undertakes research on its own and in collaboration with various universities and key national research organisations. The Grief and Trauma project has produced its own information pamphlets on grief and loss issues and there is also a range of resources dealing with grief and loss. These can be obtained from the resources section of the website, in the leaflets area of resources.

SA National Suicide Prevention Strategy Final Evaluation Report June 2006. The National Suicide Prevention Strategy (NSPS) involved four multifaceted community-based initiatives in different localities across South Australia. The localities and corresponding project initiatives were: Port Augusta / Whyalla (ComPAS – ‘Community Partnerships in Suicide Prevention’), Murray Mallee (‘Planting the Seeds of Hope’ and the ‘Young People’s Indigenous Initiative’), Northern Metropolitan Adelaide (KIT ‘Keeping it Together’), Pitjantjatjara (AP) Lands, Nganampa (‘Choosing Wisely’). The report is in three volumes.
